Propheticpraise is a ministry dedicated to speaking truth through music. God has been using me to reveal things through music. Some things seem obvious but I have found more and more people get revelations from it as they apply it to themselves. As He has said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free."
Why this name?
Mom and dad had a lot to do with it.
Do you play live?
I get to sing at some churches and for sick folk. I like to minister the Word more than I like to sing sometimes. I live in San Diego, California and except for the insanely expensive costs of housing, I love it!!! Special moments for me are when the Lord shows up and touches people while I'm singing. He doesn't do that all the time but when He does I can see it on their faces. Then I feel like I'm doing what He sent me here for.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Guys like me wouldn't even have a chance to be heard by most folks unless rich. Just think of it, a guy in Indiana who has never seen me may hear my music andf it may even make him smile. That's awesome!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I believe so, unless it was such a bad deal that I wouldn't like me or my music anymore. More exposure with others doing the leg work could be good. But, its not what it used to be. Music used to be about music ability. Now its about looks and investers and all sorts of things like that. If not for the internet I don't think my CD would have even been made.
Your influences?
Actually, I used to be a jazz singer in Australia. I was in a band called Nemesis. Even before that I sang in ghetto street corner singing groups back in the Mid-West(some of you know what I mean). In those days I was a motown man. Smokey, Stevie, Temptations, and those of that type music were my influences.
Favorite spot?
Hong Kong to visit but I'd rather live in San Diego. However, I'll admit that most of my travel is through the eyes of a military serviceman, a drunk one at that.
Anything else...?
This is my first CD. I don't know what I'm doing or what to expect. I figure if people like my music I'll do more. It is a learning experience.
