highly trained white guy ripping the hell out of fresh beats

Why this name?
when i was younger, people used to ask if i was black or white or mixed or whatever because i have a dark skin tone and i carry myself with a little bit of confidence. it was always like, oh you can't just be a white guy. i used to just say, naa, i'm just white. but then my best friend was like, naa, yo, he's just beige. so i was like, damn, that's dope. so it became BaYzHe and it stuck.
Do you play live?
Of course! All over, from 757 to 804, from I64 up to I95 in DC. Special moment? I remember my first show in Richmond at The Camel for Are You Cool? and I was so wasted. The crowd was great that night. You can see the video from the performance at www.youtube.com/bayzhe
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
the internet has watered down the music industry and the mp3 generation has helped to take sound quality out of the equation. its a double-edged sword. when I was first coming up, the internet was new and un-charted marketing territory. so even though there is a flood of amateurs in the internet hiphop landscape, it does help to have social-networking sites to use for free advertising and marketing purposes. SYNERGY IS KEY!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
probably not. the goal for me has always been to become successful WITH my friends. that we can ALL get on. with a record contract, its highly unlikely, and almost impossible. what we want to do (when I speak of we, I am referring to us at Extended Family Productions and our associates) is start something from the ground up.
Band History:
i first started writing sh*** for girls when i was younger. then i started battling in middle school. in high school i was still doing both, writing about girls and smashing heads, while i was trying to encorporate more topics and stories into my music. i started realizing by the end of high school i couldn't just battle everyone and hate everyone and have them hating me. so i started college at ODU as a creative writing major to try and bring out more of my voice as an artist. this was one of the best moves i have ever made in my musical career. just to be able to understand how to write effectively has been most beneficial. being able to tell a story is one of the most important aspects of any art, and i really felt pulling that into my music has brought me to where i am now.
Your influences?
my musical influences vary from genre to genre.

but because I am an emcee, here are the hiphop artists I have been most influenced by: Cage, Mos Def, MF DOOM, Common, Juice, Chino XL, GZA, Sean Price, WuTang, Little Brother, Big Pun, Nas, Ghostface, Kanye West
Equipment used:
peices of sh*** i collected from my own toilet.
