About the song
A poem bearing witness to the beautiful sight of a grey heron flying past me across the surface of Clear Lake, California, one early morning in a light misty rain, with one wing repeatedly just touching the smooth surface of the water, creating spreading ripples from each touch - and with each touch many flown metres apart... pure magic....
Lyrics
Nobody came to the lake in the rain
In a veil of pale disappearing
Out of a dream flew the heron queen
With a silvery wing the water kissing
Clouds crowded by
Grey on grey
Born to cry
Rain on the water
The tears of the sky
In a veil of pale disappearing
Out of a dream flew the heron queen
With a silvery wing the water kissing
Clouds crowded by
Grey on grey
Born to cry
Rain on the water
The tears of the sky
