Band History:
Sophie O'Neill: Vocals
James Copley: Guitar & Vocals
Matt Guttmann: Guitar & Vocals
Andrew Payne: Bass & Vocals
Folk rock has inspired countless artists over the years, so isn't it time for a band to bring that inspiration back? Blistering with energy and the lack of vocals, Kate's Bush captures the spirit, attitude, and explosiveness that first launched folk-rock's cause. Though they describe themselves as a "Pile Of Shit," the group musically captures a pressing sense of urgency devoted to anything trite or gimmicky. Ultimately, Kate's Bush is the type of band that pops as much for its melodic sensibilities as for its simple riffs.
Kate's Bush's major label debut, The Registration L.P takes centre stage with the same zest and zeal that earned them huge high school acclaim. For the new album, band members Sophie O'Neill (Vocals), James Copley (Guitar), Matt Guttmann (Guitar), and Andy Payne (Bass) worked alone in a shabby recording studio to record 6 songs that underline the group's distinct style, and unbalanced arrangements. The Brilliant "Eating red meats can cause cancer" whiplashes fins with strikingly slow tempo and lack of Vocals, while the song "Every Body in the apple yard" employs mood and passion to inject a searing emotional tone into the insufficient dynamics. Other highlights include "To hell with father Jack" and "Ode to Blinders," two standouts stacked with surging passion and supremely sketchy vocals. With their debut album, The Registration L.P setting a high standard with bottom heavy beats, rapid-fire bass lines, string-splitting guitar chords, and a singer with the type of vocal distinctness not heard since the early days of the Simon & Garfunkle.
