Why this name?
Briareus was one of the Hecatonchires brothers - born of Gaia and Uranus. They had 50 heads and 100 arms. He met an unfortunate fate. (Do some googling to find out.)

Earlier it was Pink Floyd, lately Tangerine Dream, Keiko Matsui, Pat Metheny and other electronica.
