What's really good ya'll? This ya boy Willy Shakes aka Young Shakes reppin' the Black Marketing crew. This is my solo page that's basically promoting my demo/album. Check the Black Marketing page too.
Why this name?
The name Willy Shakes come from William Shakespeare. He was a great writer and the way he depicted stories in plays is similar to how I do it in songs.
Do you play live?
I haven't performed anywhere yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it gives unsigned artists a good chance to promote their music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
HELL YEAH!!!
Band History:
I was raised in Elmont, Long Island. I started rapping when I was about 13. I used to do beat boxing but everyone paid more atttention to the rappers. So I went home and wrote something, came back and the rest is history.
Your influences?
I like Nas. I think that's my biggest musical influence. I like Biggie and Jay-Z too.
Favorite spot?
L Crooked I aka Strong Island aka Long Island!!!
