Projeto Hyper is a compilation of Porto Alegre's underground musical talent. Thirty individuals came together to play on ten songs, with styles that vary from trip hop to hip hop, grunge to drum and bass.
Do you play live?
Cholly: "It would be pretty difficult for thirty professionally independent musicians to get together on a regular basis. For this reason, we rarely play live."
If you make it big..?
Cholly: "The intention of Projeto Hyper was not major distribution, but to simply promote some of Porto Alegre's great underground scene. The exposure that each collaborating musician has received from this project is exactly what we wanted."
Band History:
In 1999, music producer Charles "Cholly" Di Pinto decided to create and release a compilation that could allow exposure to some of Porto Alegre's (Brazil) "underground" musical talent. The eight month project was released at Zelig Bar in November of that year.
