Matt Macpherson
I am a self taught musician. I have no theoretical knowledge on music, but I've always had an ear for what sounds right and what doesn't. I cannot read sheet music, nor can I write it for that matter. All compositions you hear, were performed by me. Unless otherwise stated in the song info.

On the side I am a local producer, aspiring hip hop artists from around my area come over and work on thier stuff - I provide advice and an extra listening ear for critism.

Do you play live?
Yes, music airing on National Television, as well as songs being used on radio, live events, clubs, etc..
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As long as the terms were fair.
Band History:
Basically through-out the years I have learned alot on what it takes to produce a clear sounding product.

I started music with a gift from my parents; At the age of 14, a Casio keyboard. At the time that keyboard felt like a million bucks to me. I look at it now and think, holy #@%*!!! that keyboard is garbage :/

The Casio had just a little song bank in it of like 10 pre-recorded songs on there that you could play along to and in about a week I think I had Beethoven covered. I learned Green Sleeves, Joy to the world... Until I got bored of all of those songs.

Learning them I listened and basically pressed keys until I got the first note right, found the second note, the third, and so on.

After getting bored of playing already known songs over I began to make up some of my own riffs and samples. As simple as they were I began adding complexity to them by using more and more keys. Until just recently I've became a little more adept to 2 handed playing. I can now get one hand to do one thing and the other to do another totally different thing. Being a drummer probably helped that but in any case, it's a step forward.

Until about 6 years ago I was messing around with some songs by cutting and pasting bits out of songs and making a remix version of my own and whatnot until it dawned upon me that I could plug my keyboard into my computer and actually record what I wanted.

After not knowing what to do, how to amplify a signal enough, at the age of 15 I found a car bandpass mixer and 'frankensteined' it to amplify my keyboard sounds. I still have every song on this computer that I've done to date, one massive folder on my hard drive with 456 (Aug 10/08) folders in it to date (This stat is updated monthly). Each folder containing anywhere from 100 - 3000 megabytes of recording data.

It was only within the last year or so when I bought this mixer, and I bought a sound module. Some of the music you see on here are songs that are relatively older. The demo cd was done on a 2 channel DJ mixer. Also the library of sounds you hear on the demo cd were limited to my keyboard which I will glady say my Uncle Ian handed it down to me when he purchased an electric piano.

It's only been with the support of my family, friends, and other aspiring artists who come and support me that give me the motivation to move on and continue to produce music.
Your influences?
I tend not to listen to other music for the most part. Electronica, and Dance genres has played a huge role in my music to date. Additionally, aspiring and up and coming artists are always a great influence as well - just helping others out gives me ideas.
Favorite spot?
The clubs. Nice vibes and a great place to get a feel for the music I want to get into.
