Hello! Marwan Green Critter and Zanoma are really one and the same person. Please visit this link to hear songs under my Zanoma alias: http://www.soundclick.com/zanoma
Why this name?
Marwan Green Critter is also the name of my online "persona" avatar. As I no longer wanted to be known as "Zanoma" anymore, I decided to produce music under the Marwan Green Critter alias from now on. Consider Marwan Green Critter as the new and improved Zanoma. =P
Do you play live?
I never played live. Composing music is simply just a hobby for me. In addition, I never even went to any disco clubs at all.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
If you ask me, then I think that the Internet makes it possible for artists and bands alike to be able to promote, preview and, sometimes, download their music online. Listeners can get to know how their music sounds like (in low quality preview, that is) so that they can decide whether they like them or not before they can buy their albums later on.

Unfortunately, the MP3 revolution has also spawned the rampant of illegal music downloads. This is one of the primary reasons of Napster's downfalls.

Luckily, however, there are some unsigned artists out there (like me, for instance) that allows their music to be listened for free. They can even let their music being downloaded for free, with only the feedback of their fans as their reward. Or, they could also make their listeners pay per MP3 download, saving the need to sell audio CD albums.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, but at this time, no, not yet. Maybe someday in the future, but who knows?
Band History:
It began one day that changed my perception of music forever. I bought this CD software called Techno eJay. The software allows even beginners without musical knowledge to create music by arranging premade samples in the pattern area. The program is great, but I needed more. The program simply doesn't meet my tastes, and my creativity is limited to the number of premade samples included in the program.

Then, one day, I found out about ModPlug Tracker by accident. I downloaded the program, and already I started tracking away. Trance is my most favourite genre at that time, so that's the first genre I started out with. As years go by, I developed a lot of different composing techniques in how to make my sounds almost as authentic as the sounds you hear from the professional musicians who create their music from a lot of bulky expansive equipments.

Then, I felt that my artistic skills have outgrown the limitations of ModPlug Tracker, therefore, on December 2008, I decided to buy myself a copy of FL Studio 8, to further expand my creativity. I've been using that program since.
Your influences?
From some of the most popular trance (or electronic dance) DJs around: Paul van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, ATB, Ferry Corsten, Mauro Picotto, Mario Piu, Rank 1, etc.
Favorite spot?
My home country. ^_^
Equipment used:
Before 2009, all of my music composed here were composed using a freeware program called ModPlug Tracker. You can find the software here: http://www.modplug.com

Recently, though, I switched to using FL Studio as well, because now, I'm really getting very serious in pushing the quality of my songs up to professional level.
Anything else...?
Malaysian trance composers are very rare... I am one of them.

I have a perfect pitch hearing. What it means is that I can tell that someone pressed, for example, E-flat on the piano keyboard without ever looking at the keys. I heard that only a handful of the world population have perfect pitch. Wow... O_O

I have lots of interests in life, not just music alone. I'm also interested in computers, and drawing. Click here for my deviantART gallery, here for my SheezyArt gallery, and here for my Storm Artists gallery.

Now, a little bit about my philosophy...

I don't think that trance is the best music genre ever invented... It's just so happens to be the stuff I like to listen a lot. No matter what genre a song is written in, if it sounds very good, then it'll be very good.

"Professional" music hardwares and softwares alone don't instantly turn an artist into a professional artist. This is where I came in... I want to prove to the world that, with enough talent, one should be able to produce professional-quality music with a software as inferior as ModPlug Tracker! (A good example: Me!) I want to shatter that stereotype where you people out there who made an immediate assumption that, just because a person said that he's using a very inferior music software, they immediately assume that their songs must be quite bad, so they refused to listen to them. Please give these guys a chance... Who knows? Maybe, despite the software they're using, the resulting music output is a real masterpiece!
