delta AM is the premier remix team of the minneapolis electropunk scene. comprised of adam powell and matthew simmons, delta AM extends thier love of dance music into every track they touch. house, techno, industrial, reggae, dub, rock, experimental....nothing is off-limits to delta AM. remixees never know what to expect when they request a track, but they are always pleasantly surprised with the results. delta AM strive to raise the bar of dance music. and they accomplish it every time.
Why this name?
we chose delta AM for some fairly straightforward reasons. delta because we change the music we touch and AM because we are adam and matt
Do you play live?
no playin live for us!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
mp3's allow a lot of people to hear music they otherwise never would, which is a great thing. our personal policy on remixes is to allow them to be freely downloadable to anyone, so mp3s are of course a wonderful format.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
we work on a track to track basis, since we are remixers, but we would be happy to release our stuff on a major.
Band History:
matthew simmons has been involved in djing both clubs and parties for the past 6 years and has recorded a plethora of experimental recordings under various pseudonyms. he has since embraced the best in a variety of musical genres and is currently involved in the minneapolis band 'Milkbar.'
adam powell has been making more-or-less industrial music for many years, is the frontman of the band 'thosquanta,' and plays keyboards for the band 'uber cool kung fu.' he uses delta AM as an outlet for the dance music he so loves.
