We are Sycho Logic. We come from Scarborough, Canada. We've been playing together for almost 2 years, been featured on 102.1 The Edge, and have 3 current releases.
Why this name?
the band name was intially a name of one of our first songs. We liked it, so made it our band name.
Do you play live?
We've played 25 shows to date. We've played ALL over Toronto and its areas. We have a energetic and interactive LIVE show.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It helps independant musicians and artists spread their music to people all over the globe.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
depends. If it means touring, distribution, and aiding us in getting our music to everyone, then yes.
Band History:
The band, Sycho Logic, comes from the city of Scarborough. They have been together for over two years, have played numerous shows in Toronto and have been featured on Edge 102.
The band consists of Rick Bhatti on guitar/lead vocals, Ron Bhatti on guitar/back vocals, Nate Sarafyn on the bass guitar and Dan Cisalowicz on drums and percussion. The band first began playing with each other after a talent show at their high school. Since then, they have constantly played gigs everywhere they could around the Toronto area. So far they have played at places like Club Rockit, The Kathederal, Reverb, The Opera House and numerous places in the GTA. Sycho Logic have made four releases to date, the first being an independently recorded full-length LP and the second a professionally recorded EP, a 2-track Sampler, and a Live CD.
The unique thing about the band is that all members have many different influences, so it is hard to categorize their music. They all listen to a variety of punk, metal and rock n’ roll. Their influences range from bands like Green Day and The Clash to Iron Maiden and The Beatles.
Rick’s songwriting resembles a lot of early rock and punk. From arrangements and structures to melodies and guitar riffs, his songwriting is very catchy. His lyrics touch on topics like politics, society, relationships and education. Ron’s guitar playing is heavily influenced by great guitarists such as Randy Rhoads, Paul Gilbert, and Eddie Van Halen. His guitar virtuosity creates a refreshing sound when merged with Rick’s songwriting. Nate is also influenced a lot by older styles of music, hints of Bob Daisley and Green Day’s Mike Dirnt can be seen throughout his bass playing. His endless fills and quick fingers create an awesome atmosphere to each song. Dan has been drumming since the age of 12, combining speed and control for a very exuberant drumming style. Being the backbone of the rhythm section, Dan’s fills and consistent beats help add another element to the songs.
Sycho Logic’s refreshing sound, energetic live shows and shear dedication to their music creates a band that is destined for a successful musical career.
