Currently in their early 20s WLK have long since cultured a loyal following in the Brunei Darussalam music scene. Since their first show in 2001, the band members (whom are all first cousins) have have climbed up the ranks of the Brunei music scene to establish themselves as one of Bruneian's bigger bands. Numerous shows in the nation's premiere and largest purpose-built venue, the JPCC Amphitheatre, co-headlining local shows and opening for foreign artists such as Too Phat, OAG, Butterfingers, Flop Poppy and Reshmonu are a testament to the band's success so far.
Academic obligations have slowed down the WLK train in the past few years - since the band formed in 2000, they have yet to release an album. That, however, is about to change.
With lead guitarist Afiy and bassist/producer Dinny both returning to Brunei late this year after graduating from university, WLK will finally get the ball rolling.
The plans for releasing their Before It Burns EP have been put on hold, in favour of writing new material to make a full-length LP. A release date of this LP is thought to be in mid-2008.
