THE POWER OVER ME
Specializing in commercial "Classic Country" and 50's & 60's Rock and Roll, Alan Elias consists of one to four members and has been performing since 1963 in various countries.
There were never any plans for "striking it rich", and, thus far, it has worked out just about that way.

Why this name?
The band name "Alan Elias" was chosen because the other good names like "The Beatles" and "Hank Williams" were already taken.
Do you play live?
I prefer "live" performances to just about anything else in the world. Most gigs these days are at fraternal organizations and community gatherings. Any time that there is someone appreciating my music is the most special of moments----without a listener, there is no music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe that because of the internet, many more people are able to be exposed to much more music (and artists) and a much wider variety of styles than ever before.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, as long as I wouldn't lose money on the deal. (Smiling here.)
Band History:
Having travelled the world for so many years, I couldn't imagine there being enough space anywhere to publish my history. I don't dwell much on the past anyway, what I am able to do today and tomorrow is what matters most to me.
Your influences?
Biggest influences would have to include (but not be limited to) Hank Williams (Sr), The Beatles, Jim Reeves, Ray Price, and Waylon Jennings.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere in the United States of America.
Equipment used:
I use a Roland Guitar Synthesizer and, on occasion, electric drummers when economics dictate.
Anything else...?
I do not use any drugs or alcohol.........and I am an insulin-dependent diabetic Viet Nam Veteran.
