Nathan Payant is a true artist. His life always finds a way into his songs. They focus on the ups and downs of love and relationships. Tracks like "Like a Child" also look at times gone by. On his acoustic pop track "Am I Doing the Right Thing," he questions his choices in a relationship. His songs have a depth that one would not expect from a 21 year old.

Nathan is the youngest of 3 girls and 2 boys in the family. He was born in Aberdeen, SD and grew up in a small midwest town in South Dakota. Redfield was the place where Nathan came to where he is today. He always had an interest in music, but a choir trip sealed his passion. He realized that this is what he wants to do in his life. He has performed in music theatre, as well as the coffee shop circuit. He has shared the stage with musicians like the indie band Pegtop, New York based Long Since Forgotten, and popular indie singer/songwriter Ari Hest.
In August of 2002 he signed with independent record label C-Sharp Productions. "The first time you meet Nathan and hear his songs, you instantly connect," Chad Sharp, label president says. "He is really something special." Labelmate Christina Bulatao confirms, "It is like he is an old soul in a young body. His songs and performances are amazing." Nathan is now busy working on his first CD. The final release date will be announced later. Why this name?
Hey...it was given to me by my parents....
Do you play live?
Yes I do, and I love it! I plan on touring over the midwest region once my CD is out in early Spring '03.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is great for the music industry! It allows independent artists, like myself, to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on the kind of offer...I know of a lot of people doing really well that aren't signed to a major label. Their CDs are flying off the "shelves" in online music stores.
Band History:
This part is basically well said in the "Introduction."
