Sick of Sound is a garage/punk band out of Tacoma, WA. The music is mostly power chord garage style punk, and have some pretty vulgar lyrics. Alot of the songs are funny, some of them are about girls, and some of them aren't really about anything at all.
Why this name?
The name was picked out of a lyric that I wrote, "I'll think a song, I'm sick of sound", about the current stagnation of the mainstream music scene. The radio isn't even an option in Washington anymore, that's how f*ucking bad the music's been getting.
Do you play live?
I can't really play live right now being that I'm the only member, but live shows are where it's at. I love going to live shows, and can't wait to start playing live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is great for distribution, and promotion. As far as piracy goes, I think it hurts some bands (not f***ing Metalica), but over all its a good thing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
There are a lot of pros and cons to signing with a major label. I think the cons out-weigh the pros. A good DIY/Indie mix would be nice, as long as the label had good distribution.
Band History:
There really isn't much of a history right now, and the site isn't up yet. I don't feel like typing the history in...
Your influences?
Alot of punk and alternative influences like The Ramones, Screeching Weasel, NoFX, The Lillingtons, Guttermouth, The Queers, The Clash, Greenday, Pennywise, Nirvana, Enemy You, The Sex Pistols, Weezer, Rancid, ect...
Favorite spot?
