About the song
Country Rock/ The Lyrics in this song were taken from the Apocrypha, Sirach 2:2-5. For my catholic brethren this is no big thing but for some of us protestants it is a big thing. I tend more toward the protestant bible for truth. But one day these verses just stuck out to me and I believe it is packed with truth. To me it goes with the same spirit of the new testament where it says while you are in the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer for I (Jesus) have overcome the world. The Christ in us will overcome. As time goes on, I am learning not to accept everything that befalls me, for there is another side to the coin here because the devil throws things at us believers that we don’t have to accept, for the word says to submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee from you. So there are times to be patient in tribulation and let God work it out and there are times to resist the devil. The trick is to discern and listen to the Spirit of God in us. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.
Lyrics
Cling To Him 1988
My son when you come to serve
The Lord Sirach 2: 1-5
Prepare yourself for trials
Be sincere op heart and steadfast
Undisturbed in time of adversity
Cling to Him
Forsake Him not
Thus will your future be great
Accept whatever befalls you
In crushing misfortune be patient
For in fire gold is tested
And worthy men
In the crucible of humiliation
