Madd Prophetz are a group of Christians doing rap. Purely from the heart. Infused with poetry, life experiences, transgressions and blessings. We came out of Betel Ministries, which is a residential Christian Community that helps people with addiction problems. The testimonies we have, really influence the reality of the music. You can feel the heart of God running through our songs. The world is lost, we are trying to point people in the right direction...through the most influencial tool. MUSIC!!!
Why this name?
A prophet is someone who speaks for a cause. We speak for God, in truth he speaks through us. The state of the world is angering, so you could say we are Mad Prophets. Add a couple of intentional spelling mistakes and you got it...
Do you play live?
What kind of MC don't do shows? We do all kinds of places, from schools and churches. To clubs and festivals. Theres not many things we enjoy more...Theres too many special moments to note here...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it profits some while others lose money and rights. But for the indipendant artist it is a blessing and usefull tool.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah, but the terms would have to be right, ain't signing our creativity away!...
Band History:
Our first song together was in December 2001, performed that month for the first time together. We've rapped all over England, mainly in the Midlands. Several bigger shows in Spain too. No crowd is too great or too small! Weve rapped for youth groups of 20 people, all the way to festivals with 2000 people. Check out the brand new album "Unseen Warfare" on www.betel.co.uk
Your influences?
IDM's got a Nas type of flow over smooth beats,wit a hard message. J is on a more Andre 3000 style, thinks outside the box...Roz, what can we say, a beautiful voice for an equally beautiful person...
