I am a young contemporary folk/acoustic singer from the city of London. I have learnt my trade from playing the acoustic circuit, venues like the Half Moon, 12 Bar, Troubadour and Cargo. I am now playing bars with my band, just a bass player and a drummer, and new material is being recorded with them. Im not great at the whole talking thing so check out my website to find out more!! www.sambeer.co.uk
Why this name?
Its my real name
Do you play live?
Regularly at the Half Moon, in Putney, and at Cargo in East London. I play frequently at small intimate venues acoustically, but i also have played at larger venues with my band. Such larger venues as, The Jazz Cafe, The Clapham Grand, The Spitz...I have played a handfull of festivals this summer, but summer 2006 lokks good for such outdoor tomfoolery.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It creates a far better community for music than any of the major labels could.
Band History:
I have always gigged very much, even in the days when i was still finding my voice. Gigging is very much the soul of my music. I have for the last year just begun gigging with my band, which has proved very successful. My bass player, David O' Rorke, now accompanies me with his double bass at most of my intimate gigs. 2006 looks good for the band as we will be touring and finishing off an album with a single to be released on 7" vinyl.
