The word "acoustic" has really been overused and abused -- and we admit that we were ACCIDENTALLY part of the whole fad. We are, above all, quite fascinated with the sound of our guitars at its simplest form -- plain and clean. Just that, really.
We play songs that we feel have created an impact on us though deep or shallow... doesn't matter, as long as it’s not really pretentious. And because of this, we get all sorts of reactions -- either they're bored or really interested. Whatever the response, each and every gig will be a different story to tell.
The tandem was formed late January 2003, when these girls have decided to make music together. They do acoustic sets and both of them are on guitars and vocals.
Most of their acoustic gigs are played with percussionist DJ Rodriguez. Recently, they decided to team up and finally complete the 5-piece band lineup with Cyril Sorongon on drums, and Ephraim Ong on bass.
Jaycie and Honey are currently working on materials to record this year (hopefully!) for an upcoming independently released album.

Why this name?
It's obviously an effortless thing. ;)
Do you play live?
yes! we love playing live! you can check our friendster page regularly (add us! jaycie_and_honey@yahoo.com) or you can also visit www.jaycieandhoney.multiply.com for gig skeds and more samplers.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
accessibility and ease are the key words... and the bad thing is, these two words often compliment piracy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
well, we're going independent this time :)

Your influences?
we simply admire women in rock. sheryl crow, sarah maclachlan, shawn colvin, suzanne vega, jewel, local guitar goddess cynthia alexander...and a whole lot more! we love the dave matthews band, jars of clay, and of course, the beatles!
Favorite spot?
the smoggy and traffic-heavy ORTIGAS where we used to rehearse during evenings. :)
Equipment used:
just two simple, yet amazing guitars with built-in equalizers: Honey uses a Seagull S Series-S6+ Cedar GT acoustic-electric guitar; and Jaycie, a Yamaha FGX-412 acoustic-electric guitar. Oh, and we also love our oh-so-helpful Boss Compact Pedal Chromatic Tuners! :)
