Hi there...We're Favorite. Yes, thats right....YOUR favorite.
Why this name?
After a long and enduring process which included finding a name that was completely original (as far as we know), and that was creative....and maybe a little egotistical? (Hey we're rockstars, what d'ya want.) We thought Favorite sounded good.
Do you play live?
We love playing live! Someday we hope to play at a Taco Bell near you. Or maybe a McDonnalds. Seriously though, we write all of the music we play and it sounds best at small packed indoor venues. We have had numerous special moments including the following: women throwing their panties on stage, fans coming up to stage and bowing down to us, and downing mass quantities of alcohol on stage. Okay, so maybe one or two of those moments haven't actually happened...yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Wow, you could write a book on this topic. To give you a reader's digest version on this issue We'd have to say it has made a major impact, both positively and negatively on the music industry. Some music fans would say it discourages people to buy cd's, making it hard for poor local bands to survive in today's dollar driven pop music industry. At the same time it allows local bands to grow by having more people around the country listen to their music. It's a touchy subject, but nothing can be more annoying than Lars Urlich!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Ahh...Sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Now that's the life all so very attainable with a major label. However, this is a very subjective question because it is highly subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations of our record contract. In addition, the last thing we would want to do is be that band we'd say we would never be...sell outs! We're loyal to our music, our fans, and most importantly ourselves. A good label, one worth signing, will take those factors in consideration when offering us a record contract. Only then, can a decision be made.
