Why this name?
There are 3 band members and it is in keeping with educational aspects of the type of music played.
Do you play live?
We no longer play live but have performed at schools etc.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is a good change that allows bands that do not have sponsorship or a record label to get noticed or just as an avenue for others to enjoy the music we created.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the chance came along the answer would have to be yes as it would alow more people to enjoy our music.
Band History:
The music was created for children and was an adaptation from "the lads" composing beer drinking songs. We could see that the “Wiggles” (a kids band in Australia) were getting very popular and seeing that we all had young children ourselves thought that we too could become very famous HA HA! So we changed the lyrics and produced a rough CD for the purpose of mailing out to music publishers around the globe to try to get some interest in the project.
Your influences?
All sorts of adult music like rock, blues, contry, balard etc with choldrens lyrics. It is our view to make every song different so that there is not only 1 flavour to the music.
Favorite spot?
At the beach, Perth Western Australia
Equipment used:
Guitar, Harmonica, Didgeridoo, percussion.
Anything else...?
We would like to thank the following people.
Our wives and families for being so patient and understanding while this project was being undertaken. Without there support it would never have got off the ground.
Principals, teachers, students and parents from, Our Lady of Grace School, St Marys Anglican Girls School & Hampton Park Primary School. Children from these schools were involved in the covers and background designs for the compact disc. Denim French, designer of the front cover.
Andy Priest at Paramount Media, whose vast knowledge in sound recording, graphic design and all the other facets involved in a total production, proved to be invaluable.
The West Australian Music Association for assisting with research information.
The friends we have, both at home and from Varanus Island, who have had to endure many hours of listening to our music and our blatant disregard for their sanity. We sincerely thank you for your critical comments, ideas and suggestions over the two years of song creation.
Gerry Brennan for his way with words and lyrics for “Normie the Numbat”
