Music has always been a major part of my life. I started playing guitar at 13 and never looked back. I spent years listening to many different styles of music and absorbing as much as I could. Also I became acquainted with some really great guitarists who influenced me a lot. I've always loved the blues and what I suppose is now called "classic rock" but I'm not closed minded to any style of music as long it's good. I have played in many different bands over the years and I've really enjoyed the ride. Lately I'm focusing a lot on recording though I do still play live. So far everything coming out is instrumental but who knows what may happen next? I do feel like I've got something to say with my music and if somebody somewhere gets something out of it then that definitely makes it worthwhile for me.
Why this name?
I got the idea from my own name.
Do you play live?
Yes. I love to play live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet has created a great opportunity for musicians without recording contracts to share their music with others and also a good way to communicate with other musicians to share ideas and information, collaborate, etc. You can hear great music that isn't avaliable anywhere else.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it was a good offer I would.
Two biggies would have to be Duane Allman and Eric Clapton. I loved southern rock but also harder stuff like Ritchie Blackmore, Robin Trower, Hendrix. Loved blues, old blues, blues rock, Johnny Winter, SRV. Mellow stuff, Pure Prarie League, Poco, Eagles, The Band, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Leo Kottke. Jazz players, Benson, Coryell, McLaughlin, Metheny. I don't know, I'm a nut.
