The Avery Set was started by Chris Zehnder (Guitar and Vocals) and Jake Bartlett (Percussion) in fall of 2003. Both in different bands at the time, Chris and Jake were ready to experiment with a different sound, so they went into a studio, and together recorded a 4 song demo entitled "Music For Girls and Boys". Eager to start playing live, Chris and Jake recruited Justin Bannister (piano, bass) and Brant Klein (Bass, Lead guitar). With a second demo released and another soon on the way, The Avery Set has evolved into something different and something special. The Avery Set will continue to grow and create music as long as its possible for them to do so.
