I was introduced to mixing and writing by 'DJ Russian Stud', a good friend of mine. I started off making music just for fun and screwin around under the name 'DJ Hamster Duck' which was based on stupid jokes from high school. As my skills developed and progressed, I found a passion for music making and decided to start over under a new name. DJ Venemis
Why this name?
When I was younger, I spent much of my time spray painting graffiti on walls, skateboards and just about anything else with a flat surface. I came up with the 'tag' Venemis.
Do you play live?
No, I have never played a live show. all of my music is made in the basement of my home. the closest I've come to playing a show is playing my CD for friends and family. I have my music on a few sites to help promote it but thats about as far as I've gone.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet makes it MUCH easier to get your music out there and get some fans and maybe get noticed by recording companies, but on the other hand, there is a lot of piracy and ripping off. all in all, I'd say it's definitely a positive thing though.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not right now. I'd rather stay indy for a while and be my own boss. The money making is not an important thing to me. I make music for the love of it.

The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto, Scooter, DJ KloneZ, DJ Russian Stud, Oakenfold, DJ Balloon.
Favorite spot?
Kamloops, Abbotsford, Vancouver
