Nate Sparks is a contemporary country singer/songwriter. My new CD will be available in stores now. Go to www.natesparks.com New MP3 samples are posted NOW! But, hey, why not just buy the CD and listen to the WHOLE tunes!
Why this name?
My name was a gift from my mother and father. Although I haven't always been comfortable with "Nathan", I have been called "Nate" for quite some time. Only Nathan when I am in trouble!
Do you play live?
In support of From Where I Stand, I will be performing limited engagements during Summer 2006. Watch for a show in your area!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and MP3 capabilities have certainly opened the industry to more performers and opportunities. No matter what, it is still about the lyrics and that's what makes this whole thing magic!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We are shopping the CD now and hope to sign a distribution deal over the coming months...keep your fingers crossed!
Band History:
I began performing as a teenager in Chesapeake, Virginia. I performed in the Great Bridge High marching band and always banged away at my parents piano. From writing jingles, to studio engineering, to club musician, to stage act; I have performed various venues and play multiple instruments. My favorite job was as band leader and keyboard performer with the country show at Busch Gardens Williamsburg! Some of the best performers and folks I still like to call friend worked with me over the years in the park! It's a great training ground for the entertainment industry!
Your influences?
I think I have been most influenced by artists and songwriters. Colin Ray, Doug Stone, and Randy Travis have all influenced my singing. I hope I can write as well as Willie, Waylon and the "boys".
Favorite spot?
My favorite town is Philadelphia! GO EAGLES!
Equipment used:
Keyboards - Korg Triton LE
Guitars - Ovation and Washburn

Anything else...?
The music of life is always worth singing.
