JdvOid (which means John Dreams of the Void) is a project started about 3 years ago, focused on producing electronica without a specific sub-genre. I'd like to be able to identify the genre of music I make, but I really can't. I just like to experiment with sounds until I find the right sounds for a tune and then dream a melody, a beat, a bassline, a sound effect, etc. at the same time keeping in mind the emotions and thoughts connected tho whichever thing, person, place, book, etc. which made me do the tune.
So they are mirrors, my tunes, and I'll make sure these mirrors reflect the most interesting parts of what my brain and heart can think and feel.
Also, check out Iberik Ambassadors a project to which I have contributed along with amazing artists such as Metricks and Strob.

Why this name?
There's this movie, where one of the character's says: "I'm too tired of this planet, I'm already dreaming of The Void" or something like that. Anyway, this character's name is John so it stands for John Dreams of Void - JDV0id
Do you play live?
Never played a commercial gig. I have however DJayed and played with ableton Live for small parties of friends. It felt good, but most of my work is done in my small studio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I don't know if it's good for the music industry, but for the unsigned musician it can be a sort of renaissance, if you make good use of it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on what you call major, but I would sign with a label if it's not one of those major labels :)
Band History:
I've been making music in computers since I was 7. Honest! I made a version of Elvis Presley's "Love me Tender" on a 48k Timex. Years later, after studying classical guitar for about 5 years, and learning how to play keyboards at home, I had contact with sequencing on a computer with Scream Tracker, a PC version of this old Amiga .mod sequencer. Since then my life has taken a lot of turns, and I spent long periods of time away from computers (close to guitars and percussion).
...Until about three years ago, when I got a laptop and the JdvOid project was born, giving me a "place" to finally try to express myself through sound. The main thing that ties this JdvOid thing together is the fact that all the music produced represents a specific moment, person, some happening or experience that I (we) have been (or am going) through at some point in my life.
