Updraft
NEWS
See above. Band is changing. So we will probably have a new name, stretch some boundaries and play some punk, some metal sounding stuff, and of course, great classic rock sounding stuff. With some funk, blues and instrumentals just for fun.

Guitar-oriented Christian rock that ROCKS. Harmony lead guitars, slide guitar, fat acoustic guitars.
Why this name?
Saw an eagle soaring in an updraft one day, above a large meadow with the Cascade Mountains in the background.
However, as we are adding 2 members to the band, the name will probably change. We'll let you know.

Do you play live?
Our goal is to perform whenever and whereever we are able, once we finalize the band and rehearse enough to be effective musical warriors for God.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Makes it more accessible to average people like myself. I enjoy sharing my music and hearing what other "normal folks" are doing. Probably has the record company fat cats nervous.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
You bet, if it would help us spread the Gospel and it glorified God.
Band History:
We started as a family music ministry. Wife and daughter weren't really into it, so basically the CD is my son wife and I. Shane is 15 and a hugely talented bass player.
We're adding 2 new members, will probably change the band name, too. Wait and see.

Your influences?
Classic rock, southern rock and blues rock. With a few acoustic tunes in there as well. And some instrumentals. I'm 49 years old. My influences are the greats of the late 60's and 70's, the golden age of rock music. Clapton. The Who. Hendrix. Allman Brothers Band. Bad Company. Skynyrd, et al. I LOVE harmony lead guitar and want to bring that to the forefront of Christian music.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is in the arms of my wife. Favorite city is Seattle, WA. They have the BEST music stores there!
Equipment used:
I record using a Boss BR-8 studio. Very new to the MP3 world and uploading my music. I play a Fender Strat and a really nice Samick SG with a Peavey Classic 50 amp. Shane uses a Spector bass, an Ashdown head and Genz Benz cabinets.
Anything else...?
We're actually changing the band, from a recording duo to a 4-piece lineup. 2 guitars, bass and drums, my favorite rock format. We'll have 2 singers. I'm the geezer at 49, working with my son (15), a 15 year old drummer and a guitarist/singer to be named later. It's gonna be great.
