Singing Evangelists
NEWS   “The Songs We Love To sing” is the name of the newest project by the Singing Evangelists. This is a cover song project that will be recorded in July. The date of release will be sometime in August. (Cover songs are songs written and recorded by other artists.) This is the first of such projects recorded by the Singing Evangelists.
This project was initiated by popular demand and request generated by fans of the Singing Evangelists. Songs such as the Light House, God on the Mountain, The Old Rugged Cross are just a few of the selections for the new project.
Singer, songwriter, and Evangelist Chuck Gibson, is in the process of getting licenses from the Harry Fox Agency at www.songfile.com for the mechanical rights and permissions for these songs.
Like with all of their other projects, they are excited to get this new one recorded and released for their fans to hear and enjoy. The reason for the name of the project “The Songs We Love To Sing” is that these are songs they have heard over the years and love to sing themJ. The album on CD will also be available for purchase online at www.freewebs.com/songevangelist. They want their albums to be available to anyone, anywhere who will enjoy hearing good old-fashioned Gospel music.
Not to be bias (because I am their daughter-in-law, but our family has listened to their music for years.) but, my husband and I, and our six children love all the songs and it fills our hearts with joy and gladness to hear them

Your Servants in his service
The Singing Evangelists
Why this name?
We are Singers and Evangelists, so our friends in the ministry gave us our group title. We are not entertainers but ministers of the gospel.
Do you play live?
Yes we sing live with soundtracks, and on occasion I play my guitar or play one or two on the piano. Most everywhere. (on week days within a fifty mile radius, because I still work a full time job. but on weekends we will travel within a two hundred mile area of our little home town of Somerset KY. depending which day, Friday or Saturday. We are praying and hoping that one day, we could be in full time ministry.
We absolutely love what we do, the gifts and the callings of God are without repentance, you cannot be sorry for the talent God has given you. You must use it for the glory of God, for his purpose, to accomplish his will on earth. Well here comes the preacher! On to the next question. Yes, in October of 2004 we were honored to sing at "The Gospel Barn" which is an outreach of "The King Of Kings" radio network. (three gospel radio stations here in southwestern KY. and central TN. It was three nights of southern gospel music "at it's best" Sponsored by "The A.C.M.A." (the American Christian Music Association) (Of which I am treasurer and chapter leader for Pulaski County)we sang all three nights, it was a glorious weekend. The next greatest moment is coming up, when we record live at W.L.J.C. the newest in 24 hour Gospel TV. programming On cable station 23 and 65 on satelite, out of Beatyville KY. (a suburb of Lexington. 3/10/2005 please tune us in that night 7pm-8:30pm for more info. click on "Our Calendar" @S.E.M. Home Office
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has been a great springboard for many people who are trying to go public with the services they offer. However I am glad that the performing rights organizations have stepped in and stopped all the piaracy that was going on.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but only after it has been looked over by a good entertainment lawyer. There has been cases where people has signed their lives away. On contracts that gave them nothing and kept them tied up in court for years. If someone wants you to sign a contract be sure and read all the "fine print" More @ S.E.M. Band History:
Artist Spotlight
Twenty six years of music ministry is now part of the testimony behind this spiritually empowered duet known as “The Singing Evangelists” Chuck and Phyllis Gibson are actively involved in many facets of the Southern Gospel Music industry.
They are currently Pulaski County Chapter leaders of the A.C.M.A. (The American Christian Music Assoc.)
They also do their own publishing through Gibson Hill Music. Which was formed two years ago by singer, songwriter Evangelist: Chuck Gibson who spent three years in Nashville, “learning the business” from some of the top names in secular country music.
Brother Chuck has been preaching the gospel for the most of the twenty years of this anointed ministry, and has been very busy about his Fathers business!
He worked as a D.J. over W.O.B.O. 88.7 fm in his hometown of Batavia Oh. Where he produced two radio programs, Sunday morning sunrise, and Monday evening drive time program “traveling the highway home” He also hosted and helped to produce his own cable T.V. program called “ shekinah” which aired three times a week on Warner cable station#24 (the public access channel) and twice a week on T.K.R. cable channel #7 in Covington, Ky. “The Road To Glory land” was another program that Chuck helped to produce and host.
Up until the time he moved here from Ohio he had three projects previously released on sage grass records and glory land music and media. “The Best is Yet To Come” (which has now become part of “The Collection” The Singing Evangelist “best of” project) A twenty song C.D. and was recorded at Jordan recording studios, In Taylor Mill, Ky. And mastered in Nashville. Featuring such talent as Charles Novell on piano, Buddy Rich on steel guitar (now gone on to be with Jesus) and Billy Blackwood on the drums, and other great musicians such as Paul Thompson, Homer Todd and Dennis Hensley. He has also worked with Rusty York of Jewel recording studios (Jewel records) and Carroll Rawlings of the masters five. Then came “Chosen Soldiers” which featured two of Chuck’s daughters singing, the background vocals, and produced by Eddie Brumley.
Chuck moved to this area eight years ago and fell in love with the beautiful lake Cumberland Region and a lovely Somerset lady filled with the Holy Spirit, and the fire of God’s love! The couple was soon after married and began a united effort to reach the lost at any cost. They have recently released their first project together “It’s Still Real Today” on the Gibson Hill label and is getting airplay on local stations everywhere!
They are currently working on a brand new project together “Let’s Get Busy” I sure do like that title don’t you? (Update 4/07 "Let's get Busy!" has now been released and is doing very well for "The Singing Evangelists" they would like to thank all of their fans for making this project a success) “update 9/2008” The Gibson's have just released their first “Cover song project” (songs written and recorded by other Artist’s) entitled “The Songs We Love To Sing” which is fast becoming a big hit with their fans, so I figure they will be doing a follow up to this one. When asked where do you go from here? Chuck and Phyllis Gibson reply’ “wherever the leads us, we will follow, and if it is the Lord’s will that’s exactly what they will do”
Amen!!!

Gibson Hill Music
On this page we want to give you information about publishing, recording, copyrights, distribution and so much more! We hope and pray that this information will be of service to you. Gibson Hill Music is a publishing house
Dedicated to music ministry. We are a small company with a big vision…to help you as an artist to become as effective as you can be, by opening doors between writers and singers of Christian music.
Completing a song is an accomplishment in itself. But if you want that song to be enjoyed by other people, if you want it to be recorded and become an effective tool of ministry, your work is just beginning! Somewhere along the line, in the process of getting your songs to the public, your creations have to be published.
When you finish writing a song it becomes a product-a property that you own. People in the music industry refer
To that property as a “copyright.” (Copyright law automatically protects Songs. Still it is important to understand
When and how they are protected and, the difference between copyright notification and registration.) All of the copyrights you own comprise your “catalog.” You control the publishing rights to all the songs in your catalog,
Until you choose to sign a contract giving the publishing to someone else.
When you sign a publishing contract, you are assigning your copyright to the publisher. Ethical publishers don’t ask you to “sell” your songs outright, rather you license the rights to the song to the publisher for a specified period of time. The publisher “administers” the copyright during that period. You’ll sometimes hear of a publisher acquiring whole catalogs, which he then tries to exploit. He tries to get the songs recorded, printed and used in various ways, and guards them against infringement. Even though a song is your creation, the publisher controls the copyright once you have given him your publishing. He does a lot of legwork and paperwork for you, and uses his contacts and business savvy to your (and his) advantage. He may choose to help you re-demo your song to make it sound more professional. He may even offer you a small cash advance at the time the publishing contract is signed. Because the publisher invests time and money in the song (because he believes in the potential of the song), you split with him the royalties the song earns, usually 50/50.
Some songwriters (if not most these days) choose to publish their own songs and “pitch them” directly to recording artists or their producers or their managers. However, publishing is a complicated and sophisticated process. Many songwriters feel that the business negotiations and follow up work of publishing take too much time away from the songwriting and demo projects, and they prefer to let an experienced publisher represent their songs for them.
Publishers can be excellent contacts for songwriters. Publishers build a reputation within the music industry. Some publishers specialize in certain types of music, while others look for crossover potential in songs, so they can peak the interest many different kinds of artists in the same song(s)
