"The Band" actually resides in my Apple computers, an iMac and MacBook pro. I play all the instruments except drums and they are programed by me in FXpansion's BFD drum software, fills are done on an Alesis ControlPad.
Why this name?
I always wanted a band named after me. And since at this point I am the only permanent member and the songwriter, I guess it fits too.
Do you play live?
Not at this time, I used to but that was another life. I do intend to eventually do some live stuff. I do the occasional worship group thing at my church from time to time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Beside making music more accessable to the masses, it also creates a venue for bad talent. This has two functions: one. it makes finding good talent difficult, and two gives the person who really wants to become better a place where seasoned musicians and songwriters will give honest critiques of their material.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes, because the industry still has a great influence on what gets played over the airwaves, and internet radio is not practical in the car yet.
Band History:
I have been playing professionally off and on since 1978. I've done rock, jazz, lounge, metal, and now I'm still doing all the above with a Christ-like attitude.
Your influences?
Yes, Steely Dan, King Crimson, Motley Crue, man this list could go a long time. People like Paul McCartney, Chris Squier, John Entwistle, Sting, (Did I mention I was mainly a bass player?) and Phil Keaggy have been big influences as well.
Favorite spot?
Cincinati Zoo and Botanical Garden, Cincinati Ohio!
