i am a solo drum n bass producer/dj from west wales, my music is very techno influenced incorporating skatty drums, pummelling basslines and trippy melodics & atmospherics. generally no nonsense dancefloor smashers
Why this name?
i dunno i think it just sounded cool at the time and then it kinda stuck
Do you play live?
i regularly dj at various clubs and free parties across south west wales and have been involved as a resident in one of the most successful drum n bass/breaks/dub/hiphop nights west of swansea. i would love to start a live act sometime in the future but at the moment i'm just concentrating on sharpening up my studio skills
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i think the internet is a great way of exposing unknown talent to an international audience setting aside the fact that big record labels are losing a lot of money due to illegal downloads
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
anything that enables me to make music full time would be welcomed but i would advise to always know what your'e getting into
Band History:
i have been making beats on my pc since november 1999, i started off playing around with a cheap midi keyboard making 4/4 music before getting onto a music technology course in 2001, which is when i started learning how to use hardware and more complex music software and starting to dj and now here i am two thousand and effing five (time flies when you're having fun)
Your influences?
my main influences include producers such as Photek, Dom & Roland, Teebee, Paradox, Ed Rush & Optical, renegade hardware stuff, to more 4x4 artists like underworld, sasha & digweed, timo maas and a whole load of people who i cant remember at the moment
Favorite spot?
i currently live in cardiff which is a wicked vibrant city with a fast paced scene, but i will always have a soft spot for carmarthenshire which has the most havin' it crowds this side of the ganges
Equipment used:
i am a bit of a software purist, i have a basic midi keyboard and a copy of reason 2.5, fruityloops, soundforge loads of vst's and effects.
Anything else...?
maximum big ups to the carmarthen Fatlace Crew who have inspired me no end over the years
