We are an instrumental quintet from Salem, WV, and we've all been friends since middle school. We just have fun and write music; nothing serious.
Why this name?
well, Jacob is my first name, but we're all in love with this Tim Robbins movie called Jacob's Ladder; and since we'll never get signed and have to battle copywrights, it just seemed appropriate.
Do you play live?
We usually just play for friends or at occasional local parties.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The best bands are ones who have never even been heard yet. New music is the BEST; it's a very powerful medium for local and indie bands to get heard, and major label records are still inept to its power.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
haha, sure, if they wanted us; you can't beat financial backing
Your influences?
We are all into completely opposite music, which is what really makes this band fun/challenging. Some of my influences: Deftones, Glassjaw, Thrice, Radiohead. Other member's influences: Mudvayne, Dream Theater, Yes, Rush, Juno Reactor, YoYoMa
Favorite spot?
Morgantown at night.
