This is Lou Scannon. I come from the old school, but I'm a revolutionary for the new. I'm from the deepest aspects of the underground hip hop world, and the other exteme, hardcore/punk. I aint gonna pretend to be anything I'm not. Here's what you get. I'm the product of the circumstances life has thrust at me. As you will see, my sound and my lyrics just reflect the truth.
Why this name?
Lou Scannon.... Say it fast.(loose cannon) I've always done whatever it takes to get by.. Especially comin' up you have to be strong and unpredictable. just like a 1200lb. cannon broken loose on the deck of a ship on the waves of a big storm. You never know who's gonna get taken out next.
Do you play live?
We've done lots of shows as a group. I was formally known as Skinner T. from a group called the Bully Crew. I've also done alot of shows with my last hardcore band Murder Machine with Frankie "suitcase" from Obituary. On the Lou Scannon project, I'm only getting started, but I deffinately see myself doing shows where people like me can come hear the real s***!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yeah, it changes it alot. I've spent years makin'' music for myself and my good friends. Now who knows how many people might hear this.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they were cool, yeah. I probably would.
Band History:
I come from all styles of music. I play guitar, bass, and some piano by ear. I produce/co-produce. I'm a writer. I've been on stage at least 500 times as a hardcore singer, guitarist, rap artist, or dj.
Your influences?
I'd say from Wu-Tang, Eric Sermon, KRS-1, Public Enemy, to Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Fang, Cancerous Growth. sh*** I'm a musician. You put on some David Allen Coe and I'll find something good about it. hahahaha
