Hi! My name is Allen Nichols. I am from the southern tier area of New York where I live with my wife and two daughters. I am a christian artist looking to share Christ and a message of hope through original rock music. My journey in music started as a teenager when I was inspired by God to write lyrics that would communicate His message of hope and salvation to anyone who would listen. Over the past 16 years I have played in 3 or 4 different bands. God's call on my life to use music for His glory grows ever stronger these 16 years later so it is my prayer that you will be encouraged, enlightened, entertained, blessed and challenged when you hear the music God has placed on my heart.
Do you play live?
I play out solo, in a band and lead worship at church once a month in a band called Matter of Faith.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Just ten years ago it was very difficult to record a demo and share it with people. No we can record on our home computer and upload the song all in the same day and God can use it to reach people that much faster. Now that is what I call a change for the better.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If God is in it I am into it :)
Your influences?
I am influenced by so many great artists both in music and in what they say in their lyrics. Here are a few of my favorites from the past 20 years: Chris Tomlin, Paul Balloche, Tree63, Mad at the World, Steve Taylor, Bash-n-the Code, Petra, Chris Rice, Rick Cua, Casting Crowns, Micheal Card, John Micheal Talbot, Randy Stonehill, and the list goes on and on and on :)
Equipment used:
I have 3 guitars - a Windsong Strat Style guitar with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pick up in the bridge position (sounds good I think), a Windsong Acoustic Electric, and an Ibanez Artcore. I play through a Line 6 Pod Pro which gives me alot of different tones. When playing out I use a Fender FM212r.
