Band History:
A Last Goodbye formed in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada during the early summer of 2004. With an overabundance of really great bands in a multi-talented local arts community, the band has already proven that it’ll be one to keep a close eye on. Originally formed by rhythm guitarist Darryn Pooke, bassist Sam Baron, lead guitarist Clarke Wiebe and drummer Scotty B, the band set out to find their vocalist. After answering an ad on a local music site, and a short audition, local singer/songwriter Liam Harvey Oswald joined the band. It wasn’t long before the bands drummer Scotty left the band to play guitar in another, and longtime friend Brett Henry moved in to take control of the skins. Now more motivated than ever, A Last Goodbye was quickly re-born and immediately dove head first into the songwriting style that would easily set themselves apart from everyone else. With influences ranging from seminal bands like U2, Megadeth or the Replacements, to newer acts like Funeral For A Friend & Misery Signals, ALGb promises to fuse the elements of passionate progressive pop music with the intelligence and fury of emotionally charged hardcore. With only a few shows under their belts, it’s amazing to see that they’ve already warmed up the stage for such influential acts as Choke, Ten Second Epic, Burnthe8track, the Reason, Blue Skies at War & Drive By Punch. With the release of their 6 song EP "Wide Eyes & Dreams" in February 2005 and the purchase of a tour van, A Last Goodbye's future appears to be promising.
