American Soul, R&B, and Folk mingle and mix with Spanish and Afro-Cuban roots.
Why this name?
We haven't chosen a band name. We're still just Terrence Craft and Willis Ware.
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live upon invite, and also in various places in Chicago. We don't charge huge amounts of money, as long as you can get us a place to perform, set the date, offer a reasonable price, we'll get there.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3 definately makes it easier to translate music on a global scale without pricey CD costs and transportation necessities.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, if it was a label I knew would respect musicianship, control, artistry, and the artist's right to be a human being and not a toy, entertainment source, or creation of the record label itself.
Band History:
We met in art class in 2002 and hit it off because our art teacher was so cool that she made everybody mix and mingle on the first day and for the first few weeks, so you could never escape each other. We enjoyed each other's art and personality, clicked as friends.
One day on a train we discovered we had a mutual friend, guitar maestro Isaiah Padilla. He was playing while Willis sung, and then I began singing. It worked. We started singing The Sweetest Thing by Lauryn Hill and it just worked so well. The harmonies blended well, we sounded good together, people on the train were watching and enjoying.
