Why this name?
Brazuca is a name used to designate any Brazilian person living abroad. As my music is full of other countries'influences, I assumed BRAZUCA could be a name that best translated this whole thing, being Brazilian but at the same time opened up to the rest of the world.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows us to gain recognition by a wider number of people, and that can cause a huge difference in relation to the number of ppl in the audience of a live show.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Guess not.
Band History:
I have been in the business since ever ( 1982, actually... ), accompanying famous stars from Brazil ( Ed Motta, Djavan, Joao Bosco, Leila Pinheiro ) and from other countries ( Al Jarreau, Placido Domingo), but decided that now's the time to go solo.
Your influences?
From Antonio Carlos Jobim to Herbie Hancock, from Jimi Hendrix to Yes and ELP, from The Jackson Five to Beethoven. I am more into R+B and Brazilian music
Favorite spot?
Rio de Janeiro in the winter, Amsterdam in the summer.
