My name is Michael Doris. I was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1971, and got my first guitar when I was about 5-6 years old.
Apparently I broke it over the head of my Grandad who was laughing at my pathetic musical efforts....
Why this name?
I was born with it.... lucky eh?...
Do you play live?
In my bedroom. In the car. Special moments.... Archie Gemmil 1978
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Decreaing influence of record companies due to the internet. It will be probably be more difficult to find decent stuff as a result.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm genuinely not sure. I simply don't need a record company so why complicate things. If they offer me a shed load of money then that might change my mind :D
Band History:
I picked up a guitar as a boy and learned a few chords. The rest as they would say is history. Did some acid jazz and house stuff in the early nineties but I didn't enjoy it as much. I've settled into a sixties vibe which comes naturally to me and I've never enjoyed making music so much as I have in the past year.
Your influences?
The Beatles
Oasis
James Taylor Quartet
Grim Northern Social
Queen
