Why this name?
Al Boogie was a name given to me in high school by my peers. They say I'm nothing but a "good time"- something like a DISCO! And plus I was always into music, so the name just stuck.
Do you play live?
I Love to play live! I do a lot of shows out in St. Louis. It' a lot of fun.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Definently! It gives an unsigned artist a chance to be heard by millions of people. Your able to establish yourself a little bit.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would if the figures/deal were right. The majors really give it to artist, espeacialy those who aren't established.
Your influences?
I listen to a lot of music. I love disco, that's definently a good time. Artist wise... I like em all, the ones that stand out the most are Nas, Q-Tip, Pharell, 3000, I love to listen to artist who arent afraid of going into left field.
Favorite spot?
Chicago of course! That's home. I really enjoy the ATL and STL. It's a lot of love there.
