We're SBC3! Prog rock band with some emo influences hailing from on the river in Chattanooga, Tennessee. W0ot Wo0t
Why this name?
The guitarist (Jared) and I (Mike), saw an ad for a church in sunny California one day. We thought the name sounded cool, and added choir to it, since we play music. (Made sense at the time). We shortened it to SBC3, and thats what we use.
Do you play live?
We play often at Club Fathom in downtown Chattanooga, TN. Its amazing, and getting up there and playing your heart out while people are moshing and singing, its an one-of-a-kind feeling. Best thing in the world, we wouldn't trade it for anything.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows people to sample music before plunking down 16.99 on a cd they might not like. I just don't think people should abuse this privelege.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Without a doubt, if they offered what we were looking for and meshed with our ideas. Hell yes.
Band History:
This little shindig we called a band formed around November 2003. Scotty, Jared, and Mike all got together and decided to make a band. Jared and Mike made the name, and voila! a new metal band was born. They added a singer in March 2004, and the band started to take off. The singer was Barbie, a girl with an awesome scream and a very melodic voice. They've been going strong since then and have enough material down to record their first demo (still in the process of finding a studio). Sadly, Barbie left us in August of 2004. Just recently (October 2004) We picked up The Almighty Breaston (Chris). He has been singing some and playing some guitar for us. We just released a new demo, so the songs should be there soon. Take a listen to our new sounds! NOTE: All recordings done by Tripp Basset, who also supplied us with all the equipment needed. If you need recordings done, e-mail him at wkbrd986@yahoo.com and he can probably help you out.
Your influences?
We're heavily influenced by heavier bands such as Tool, Deftones, Dream Theater. We also love bands such as Led Zeppelin, Story of the Year, Lost Prophets, various jazz recordings, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, Something Corporate, Yellowcard. And Many others. Hence our emo influences.
Favorite spot?
Right where we live for now.
