I'm a student at the University of Oregon, where I'm studying percussion performance (for now) and am just diving into the composition department in hopes of getting my chops enough for a real paying gig some time not so far off. My passion, as far as music performance, is marching percussion. I play snare, and am trying for a spot on the Concord Blue Devils snare line next season. I also can sometimes convince people that I'm a pianist. :)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet makes you're music so much more marketable. It's so much easier to get heard now with the way technology has gone.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell yeah! (If I could ever get the opportunity)
Your influences?
I write in film style, even though my work isn't true film music.
Favorite spot?
Southern California in general. Maybe I'll be down at USC for grad school in a couple years.....who knows....
Equipment used:
I use Garritan Personal Orchestra, along with Cubasis for sequencing (which I REALLY need to replace with something better) Garritan is excellent, though, by far the best quality samples for that price. Oh yeah, and I cant forget to agknowledge Sibelius.....WAYY better than Finale. Hopefully I didn't loose too many would-be-listeners with that comment.
