Why this name?
My name came from a friend that I was incarcerated with. His stage name was Solomon. I used to always tell him to use his real name, Jack Gray. He wouldn't because of the obvious reasons...so I told him I was going to use it. What started as a joke...just stuck. Jack Grey.
Do you play live?
Yes sir.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
That is a question with a long answer. To sum it up? It opens doors that cats in the 80's couldn't even imagine. With the click of a button I can let someone in China hear my music. They can respond with a critique just as fast...THAT sums it up. Unbeleiveable. We should all be grateful.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, of course. That is the plan...I have a kids to feed, a wife, and I hate working the 9-5. Music is my passion in life.
Your influences?
Tough call. I grew up on everything from Motown to Funk, to Classic Rock and Hair Bands. Started listening to rap around 1986. Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Run DMC. First Tape I ever bought was NWA "Straight Outta Compton". That LP blew my mind...I could not beleive the straight forward expression that I was hearing in music. No other genre had ever been so clear with its images and messages. I was all in.
From there I progressed into hundreds of different musical interests. It would be impossible to list them all. I listen to the following musical genres...in general. Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative, Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Soul, Classic Soul, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Acoustic Rock, Metal, Drum n Bass, Jungle, Techno, Deep House...the list goes on and on. I play the bass guitar...so my interests have always been broad.

Favorite spot?
I would have to say the entire Detroit Metropoliton Area. If I ever think of living anywhere else? It is either Toronto or Phoenix. But I doubt I'll ever leave.
Equipment used:
Depends on which studio I record in.
