Ramapo Ridge plays bluegrass standards as well as other songs in a bluegrass style.
Why this name?
We live near the Ramapo Mountains in New Jersey and we couldnt agree on anything else.
Do you play live?
We play in bars, senior citizen centers, and county fairs. As long as somebody will listen, we'll play for them. The music is in us and we have to get it out.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not. It would only go to our heads. Next thing you know we'd be riding to gigs in separate limos, playing with our backs to the audiences, and trashing hotel rooms. It's better that we remain po' musicians playing because we love to play and enjoy each other's company.
