I'm currently working alone but looking to form another band. In the early days I was mainly a metal player but recently I've become more evolved. I blend different styles and don't like to be pigeon holed in one category.
My first band was called Lavatane and consisted of Carl Wright, Robin Warhurst, Gurjeet Kalair, Adam Butler and me. We had our moments and played the BBC live festival, this was after being noticed by a BBC scout named Doug at a former gig. Inevitably the band split, after this I went to college and got involved with other musicians. I learnt a great deal during this time and jammed in different bands almost everyday.
The last live work I did was in a bar playing background jazz/chilled music for the people eating and drinking. In this set-up we had a bass player, sax player, guitarist and percussionist.
I'd also like to give my friend Alan Gardiner a mention since he is now on soundclick, he has a great creative musical mind. He is under the name "fifties child", you can find him here

Why this name?
Its something I remember from an old game and is also my screen name on other forums.
Do you play live?
At the moment I'm not playing live but I'm ready to get back out there again.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its turned everything on its head. CD's are a dying breed now, sales are right down and it seems downloading has taken over. Whether this is good or bad remains to be seen but one thing I do know is that the net has changed relations between how people hear about bands. Nowadays things travel the world with word of mouth over the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Your influences?
Many influences, too many to name and think of without missing out a load. Key figures must include Guns n Roses, Metallica, The Wildhearts, The Beatles, The Jam, Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Guthrie Govan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, most blues players, Queen, No Doubt, The Clash, Nirvana, John Williams, Danny Elfman, James Horner etc
Favorite spot?
California
Equipment used:
Tokai love rock with seymour duncans 59 and JB, An old but class Japanese Squier strat, Marshall amps, Jim Dunlop cry baby wah, Pod xt, Jackhammer pedal, Freshman acoustic, Sumo bass.
