What's with the name?!

Daneja Mentale is another way of saying "dangerous mentality".

Do you play live? Where? Do you like it? Any special moments??!

No, I don't play live. I mainly do production for other artists. As of special moments... I make the special moments happen

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

To me I think that it's better for local and unsigned artists to get noticed. Most radio stations are either too stuck on a corporate playlist or so-called "hits". Plus the internet and SoundClick is a good way for others to network. Before money became a big issue in the music industry. It was all about making good music. Nowadays, if you don't go multi-platinum you're considered a flop in the business. Back in the "Golden Age" years of Hip-Hop; just going gold was good. Times have changed. The execs have become greedier and the music has become watered-down. That's why I'm sticking to the underground music scene.

Would you still sign a record contract with a major label?

I'll say both no and yes. The reason why I say no is because most "majors" do not grant a new artist creative control. As for saying yes; the major labels do (well some of them) promote the artist to the fullest. The advance money can help as well. like I said before, I'm sticking to the underground.

Who are your musical influences?

Influences include: LL Cool J, Run-DMC, N.W.A., Gangstarr, Public Enemy, Prince, 9th Wonder of Little Brother, Jam & Lewis, 2Pac, B.I.G., and most of all Denise Phillips (mother).

WHO THE F@*K IS DANEJA MENTALE?

Born and raised in the 'Dirty South' state of Alabama; I bring a unique form of Hip-Hop to the industry. I combine a mix of beats with a touch of drum n' bass, R&B, jazz, & hip-hop. I've networked with a few known producers and artists such as Kelvin Bradshaw (formally of Basic Black), Gabe Holland (Superczar). I've also produced tracks for some up and coming acts across the U.S. Some of these artists include: Syko-Rah (GA), H2O (OH), Moe Arsonis (GA), Sparklipz (NY), Head of Command (PA), Xplicit Kontent (GA) and Thump (FL). Not only do I come into the game as a producer, but as an artist and CEO of Def For Life Records. I'm also head of Soul Mafia Enterprises, which is also the name of my group. Some people say that my style of production is more diverse than other southern rap producers. I don't mind that at all. It's cool to be different for a change.
