I enjoy creating emotive and melodic compositions using extreme extended-range 7 and 8-string electric basses as the principal instruments. From sub-contra to delicate piccolo bass stylings accompany synthesizers and e-percussion to construct instrumental aural landscapes for focused listening or sonic backdrops.
Why this name?
Since I am a solo artist, it seemed like the name "that came with me" was the easiest choice.
Do you play live?
Yes, I enjoy live performances...they are a challenge when managing several types of sonic media simultaneously...very different from ensemble work. The city where I live has many intimate venues for the solo performer, each with it's own style clientele.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The hardware and software available to artists to create their works in their own time and space is of sufficient quality to compete with the mega-studios. The listening public is hard-pressed to discern the difference.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm having way too much fun calling my own shots!
Band History:
My effort to record and perform as a soloist is a result of my artistic diversion from the world of commercial ensembles and the years I've spent developing my musical "voice" using custom designed and artistically hand-crafted extreme extended range electric basses.
