Lexie Ruth is recording her first songs, mostly over 2005. Elementary Rock! All performances are uncoached and typically spontaneous. She is sometimes joined by her younger brother Zachariah. Her father, Greg, writes the instrumental music. Some of Lexie's material may appear on Sugarcamp's "Son of Man" album, scheduled for release in summer of 2005.
Why this name?
Since Lexie does most of the singing and makes the lyrics up off the top of her head, she is the headliner here.
Do you play live?
Lexie and Zach have performed live at the Book n Bean in Fairmont, WV. In spring of 2004, they brought down the house with their funky inspired rendition of "Dance Music Monkey."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Lexie and Zach are too young to remember before the Internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Lexie and Zach work completely without pressure, which undoubtably adds to the joy the listener hears in these songs. For now, they just wanna be kids.
