Welcome to my world. All the different flavors and styles that I blend into one to give you Love, Street, and sorrow make up what I call R&B. With a few party jams too. I hope this introduction will be the beginning of a long journey together.
Why this name?
I really like the way my last name sounds when people say it.
Do you play live?
I love live shows. Right now I'm doing shows in Northern CA. When I get to interact with my fans.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I feel the internet allows more people to listen to your music more so then the past. I love it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if the deal is right.
Band History:
Enjoy his life, as it's expressed through his music! Lucas, The Only One!
Marc Severson Lucas, born in Bremerton, WA but raised in the San Francisco Bay area, has enjoyed music all his life!
As a little boy, his sister would take him to choir rehearsal in Oakland where he nourished his love for music. Rehearsals were long and hard, but really fun and educating. The most memorable moment was when he wrote a poem to a girl in the choir, she read the poem, a smile came across her face and she walked over to him and gave him a kiss! At that moment in his life, he learned that words are a powerful tool and he wanted to express that through music!
He continued to excel musically under the direction of choir director Patrick Sturgeous, a Gospel Recording Artist. At the age of 16, he joined the Voices of Gospel under the direction of Marva Lyons. In 1992, he got a feeling like no other performing in Los Angeles in front of thousands of people, singing LIVE with Voices of Gospel. Through him and many other musical inspirations and artists, he was driven to become a musical genius.
In 1995, he was a member of a musical group called Arrival. While a part of this great music venture, Jerry the director of the band taught him the importance of music and theatrics. Shortly after leaving the group he wrote his first song titled Rainy days and a second song titled Brown Eyes which become a local hit for his debut album, Lucas: Emotions of a Virgo: Life, Love and Pain.
In March of 2004, he followed his heart and jumped on the opportunity to do acting and musical plays. He was recognized as a true vocalist and a striving actor in hit shows such musical plays Smokey Joe’s Café and The Congregation.
His musical influences are Luther Vandross, R. Kelly, Temptations, Hi – Five, Michael Jackson, Prince and The Four Tops and many, many more. He will love to work with Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre and Whitney Houston along with writing music for everybody and anybody… especially for India Arie and Beyonce.
His life is woven in his music. His harmonious style will enrich your mind, body and soul to groove to some new rhythms, beats and sounds. There’s no doubt that Lucas can bring it to you fast or slow. One thing is sure, this Virgo is definitely ready to rock the world!
