Why this name?
My band name is Aaron Lewis because my name is Aaron Lewis
Do you play live?
I've been playing live for almost 17 years.I play with a number of different bands here in Cape Breton and I also travel with a number of bands on the road.I was with the Carlton Showband for 7 years and played piano for the Ennis Sisters for a year.Asside from all that I work a lot as a session player.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet allows people to be heard who wouldn't normally be heard, which is a great thing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hard to say, I'm really happy just writting songs and helping others to reach thier dreams,I get my happiness that way.
Band History:
I started playing drums at the age of 4 years old,I lived in ontario at the time because my father played with the Carlton showband, and was on the long running TV show The Pig And Whistle. When i turned 6 we moved back to Cape Breton.
through the years I kept with music and when I turned 16 I got involved with the piano . I then formed a band called Cross Roads and we won some cool contests.
then at 17 I started playing in bars and trying to go to school at the same time (wasn't easy)but I got through it.Then the band that my father played in was in town and they came out to hear me, two weeks later I was off on the road.I spent 7 years with them then moved back to Cape Breton and began playing the local clubs again and vowed never to go on the road again, but that all changed when the Ennis Sisters asked me to play with them,I spent about a year with them. Now I'm writing songs, playing in a number of bands in my local area, and doing session work as often as i can.
