We are a two person band. Just bass and drums. We kind of created our own style of Funkish Punk. Or "pfunk". But the style isn't limited to punk or funk. We play whatever we feel like. We have a Hardcorish song, a 70's "happy song", and a few surf songs that are pretty random. We dont usually sing, at least not yet anyway. We havent been a band very long actually, we started in last March or April. Our songs are fast and we like to evolve them alot.
The song "I like Beans" was the first song we have ever written' or made up. SO if it sounds like crap thats kind of why.

Why this name?
Well First we where named Rocking Freakapotomus, but
then we found out that Rocking Freakapotomus is the name of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Fan Club. So we decided to change it to Freakachu, because it sounded cool and we couldn't think of anything better. Later we found out that a freakachu is some kind of Japanese cartoon of a freaky cat mermaid thing. Which kind of works for our band name.

Do you play live?
Yes. The very first place we played live was at our school's talent show. We played "I like Beans" and it was the worst we ever played it. Strings broke and we were really nervous. But somehow we won the talent show. It was really fun, but freaky because it was the first time and we messed up so much. It was really cool though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is the coolest thing ever because you can download tons of music and you can upload your own music, and its totally cool.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yea, of course.
Band History:
We live in Chiang Mai Thailand. Jay or Joe Richard Franzen is american, and he plays drums and yells random stuff in the background from time to time. I am Leif Bauer and i'm half German half American, and i play bass. We sarted in April of 2003, because we both live in the same neighborhood and we wanted to play something for the talent show coming up at our school. SO we got together and made our first song ever, titled "i like beans". We played it at the talent show and suprisingly won. After that we made up a few more songs and played them at random places such as baquets and Socials.
Your influences?
My main musical influence for playing bass is Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, hes the best bass player in the world and my hero. J's Main influence is Travis Barker of BLink-182. J listens to alot of Blink-182, Mock Orange, Sum 41, Modest Mouse, and the Used. I listen to alot of the Pixies(which are my favourite band of all time), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Coheed and Cambria, Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Beep Beep, R.E.M, Placebo, radiohead, Mike Knott, and many others. I collect cd's and music and like almost everything but really repeditive stuff, or cheesy, or Poppy crap.
Favorite spot?
This is random.
