My name is Georgie McFarley III, but I go under the name of ManChild. It is definitive to the journeys I have traveled in learning what allows me to grow. Before ManChild, I fronted a jazz funk jam band called, Blue Folha. Folha is Portuges for foliage, or leaf. To me it means the sign of change, of difference, and rareness in all forms of being…even beauty.
Why this name?
I have always wanted to have band names with relative meaning to my music. My music is a reflection of my life...my aspirations, fantasies, and the tribulations I have met and conquered or am in the process.
Do you play live?

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music becomes more accessible when you add it to the internet. I can email tunes to friends and people can check myself and others.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Being signed only works if you apply what the label is offering you; the contract should also have your best interests and nothing less...a record label will always do what they need to do. "So as the worker bee, "we gotta use what we got, to get what we want."

Your influences?
I must say Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Johnny Hartman, L. Kravitz, my goodness, this is one of the most impossible questions for me...I love so many artists and their styles...jazz-bluegrass, neo-soul...wait, music that is real and from the heart and soul, THAT is what my influences are based upon...is upon a preposition?
Favorite spot?
New York City, and Lawrence, Kansas
Equipment used:
For several of the pieces I am displaying, I used a Roland 505, and CasioWorkStation (keyboard). Soundforge, Cakewalk.
Anything else...?
Music is essential to harmoonious living. It allows us to convey the more than words, and the too many words...Music is a honorable career!
